Fences took place in the 1950's, during the civil rights movement. Fences, itself captures how black people were starting to come up out of the struggle a little bit and actually fight for their rights. They wanted to be treated equal to white people. Being a black man in the 50's, Troy has had to also fight for his rights with union. |
